πŸ“– Matthew 28:20

β€œAnd surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The beginning of a new year often arrives with expectations, resolutions, and quiet questions of the heart. We long for clarity and direction, yet God frequently works through process rather than instant answers. There is character that can only be formed in the midst of tribulation, when faith moves from theory to lived experience. They are tested, refined, and strengthened.

In seasons of struggle we learn a deeper truth: not everything is meant to be understood right away. With time, God’s movements become clearer. What feels confusing today may reveal purpose tomorrow. Until then, the invitation is simple and profound. We continue depending on the Holy Spirit, even when the road ahead is not fully visible.

Scripture reminds us that there are seasons of resistance, because the enemy does not want us to move forward. Yet opposition is not a sign of defeat... it is evidence of growth. Every obstacle becomes a classroom where God shapes patience, humility, perseverance, and trust.

Jesus gives us a promise that anchors the soul in every season: He is with us every day. Not only on the good days, but also on days of weariness, and uncertainty. His constant presence is the foundation of our hope.

Ellen G. White reminds us that character is revealed and strengthened when faith is tested (The Desire of Ages, p. 625). And the life of the apostle Paul stands as living testimony. Through imprisonment, loss, persecution, and hardship, Paul learned to be content, not because life was easy, but because his joy and identity were anchored in Christ rather than circumstances.

This is how 2026 begins. Not with the promise of an easy path, but with something far greater: a faithful God walking with us every step of the way, quietly forming what will last for eternity.

πŸ’¬ Reflection

  1. What area of my character might God be shaping in this new season?
  2. Could my current struggles be preparing me for what lies ahead?
  3. What does daily dependence on the Holy Spirit look like for me this year?

πŸ•ŠοΈ Prayer

Lord, as I begin this new year, I acknowledge my need for You. Even when I do not understand Your ways, I choose to trust Your leading. Shape my character, strengthen my faith, and teach me to depend fully on Your Holy Spirit. Walk with me each day. Amen.
