Why this smoothie works
This is one of the simple recipes we use in La Comida Como Medicina to show that healthy eating can be practical, affordable, and culturally adaptable.
We don’t add sugar — the natural sweetness comes from the fruit.

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup frozen berries
  • 1 handful spinach
  • 1 tablespoon flaxseed
  • 1 cup water or plant-based milk

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender
  2. Blend until smooth
  3. Adjust liquid as needed
  4. Serve and enjoy
